At the heart of the Lavender Book Co. is Catherine Parry, aka Cat.

For her it all started at a young age. In love with art, she exposed herself to a variety of styles and mediums from kindergarten through college.

The love of classic children's books was instilled by her mother from the beginning. The memories spent reading these books together, were always held close to Cat's heart.

Ten years passed where Catherine didn't touch art at all. It was only after becoming a mother, that she became inspired to bring the charm back to modern children's books.

"As a mother I wanted to find modern books to include in our at-home library to go alongside the classics. I had a hard time finding the books I wanted, ultimately this is when I was inspired with my first character, Theodore. Everything snowballed from there. My dream is to bring classic feeling books to the modern child. In other words, I want to bring the charm back." -Cat
